Meet Our Music Therapists
Cindie L. Wolfe, MMT, MT-BC
Director

Cindie Wolfe is the owner and director of Music Therapy of the New River Valley. She is a Board Certified Music Therapist, neurologic music therapist (NMT), and a music teacher. Cindie has experience working with adults and children with a wide variety of diagnoses and specializes in neurologic injuries and disorders (including brain injuries). Cindie plays flute, piano, guitar, and hand drum.
Cindie received a bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Radford University after completing a clinical internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, and earned a Masters of Music Therapy degree from Temple University. Cindie also obtained certification in Neurologic Music Therapy from the Robert F. Unkefer Academy of Music Therapy at Colorado State University. Her research interests include the effects of music on the brain and hormones.
Cindie brings a wide range of experience, having also received a BS in physics from Virginia Tech. She previously had a career as an engineer where she honed her problem solving skills, enabling her to provide creative and unique solutions for each music therapy client.
